Testimonials

We really appreciate your "Business Improvement Techniques" training for our forty operators and your flexibility to cope with the demands of running a business
This five week training programme at Saint Gobain Abrasives was beneficial for our workforce for the following reasons:

• The operators understood the meaning of Lean Manufacturing and the use of problem solving tools such as 5S and 5C, workplace organisation and Visual Stream Mapping.
• The operators are able to detect all waste through the manufacturing process and identify the costs incurred
• This training improved the communication between each team and management.
• The operators are aware that standard Operating Procedures are needed for each process
• The operators refreshed their Health & Safety knowledge

During this training, the Business Improvement Techniques programme helped the Company to define 15 projects to benefit from more economic processes. To date, 5 projects have been completed representing a significant cost saving. We really appreciated your professionalism during this training and we are looking forward to working together on other initiatives in the future.

Fabien Duband - Saint-Gobain Abrasives

“I found that I really enjoyed working with the youngsters, passing on my own skills and guiding them towards a worthwhile future. There are fewer jobs available at the low-skilled end of the trade these days and it’s harder for young people to get that first break. We teach them the importance of getting as much training as possible all through your working life.”

Course - NVQs in Wood Occupations at levels 1, 2 and 3, as well as a City & Guilds 3792 certificate in adult literacy at level 2.

Graham Kenny – Sole Trader Carpenter

“The great thing is that everything we learn is relevant. The work here is complex and there are a lot of processes involved. If we find ways to do things better and increase efficiency then that has got to be a good thing. Even when you are using tried and tested manufacturing methods you should look for improvement.”

John Wood – Unitec Ceramics Ltd
